information for current mcc holders
Claiming Your Credit
To claim your mortgage credit, complete IRS Form 1040 for the current tax year. Forms 1040A and 1040EZ cannot be used for the MCC Program. Remember that the percentage of mortgage interest that is not claimed as a direct tax credit may be claimed as an itemized deduction, as long as you have sufficient tax liability.
