OHFA Spring 2019 Agency at a Glance

The Homeownership department is hard at work processing loans at near pre-housing crisis levels! Homeownership could reach $600 million in loan production. The team is keeping up with demand, while still making time to visit and train lenders and realtors about OHFA programs and helping cities demolish and green blighted properties through the Neighborhood Initiative Program (NIP). The Office of Housing Policy is working diligently on its strategic planning for fiscal year 2020, which includes the Annual Plan and the Housing Needs Assessment. This year’s Housing Needs Assessment is moving online! The change enables more stakeholders and users to access the data more easily. After review and public comments, both documents will be finalized in June. Race results are in and the 2nd annual Race for a Place (to Call Home) 5K raised $15,000 for Habitat for Humanity-MidOhio. The money will help Habitat meet its goal to serve 100 families this year. The site is the main resource for potential homebuyers to educate themselves about the various programs OHFA offers. The office of Planning, Preservation, and Development started the season evaluating applications submitted in the Competitive 9% Housing Credit Round. Currently, the department is developing the next Qualified Allocation Plan, which includes public forums and stakeholder meetings. Catch up with our Compliance division, which has transitioned to a software- based physical inspection system. Auditors now use tablets onsite to transmit information in real time. Our training and technical assistance department is busy traveling across the state educating industry professionals about new policies and regulations. And, new updates have come to the DevCo Help Desk!
